This is a selection of images from a larger body of work that I am calling my “Haitian Journal.” I began making these images to represent my experiences while traveling around the country, often during off-moments while on assignments for news or non-governmental organizations. A couple of these images were even made on assignment. What unites this body of work is that the images are a clear representation of the way I see and feel about Haiti. I did not initially understand this body of work as anything other than a journal but after years of making these images I realized that the “Haitian Journal” is an ongoing love poem to Haiti.
This work is on display at The Brooklyn Circus until July.
